Clinical Research at St. Joseph Cancer Center
St. Joseph Medical Center is an Affiliate of the Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute Cancer Network. This relationship affords patients the benefits of the medical expertise and technology available at St. Joseph Medical Center plus access to the leading edge diagnostic services, treatments and research available at Penn State Hershey. Network membership enables St. Joseph Medical Center physicians and patients to participate in clinical cancer research through Penn State Hershey and National Cancer Institute (NCI) national cooperative groups. Clinical trials provide patients an opportunity to enroll in cancer prevention, treatment, and quality of life studies. Our oncologists and clinical research team identify medical and radiation oncology trials which provide participation opportunities for our cancer patient population using standard of care technologies and drugs or novel therapies otherwise not available in a community hospital setting.
This list describes the types of clinical trials and their eligibility requirements, which are currently open for accrual at St. Joseph Cancer Center. If required, our clinical research associate and oncology principal investigators will collaborate with other institutions to find a clinical trial most appropriate for each eligible patient.
For information regarding clinical trials, please contact Daniel Ward, RN, MS, OCN, CRRP, Clinical Research Associate, in the St. Joseph Cancer Center at 610-378-2602 or access National Cancer Institute information at www.cancer.gov/clinicaltrials.
