The importance of interaction with family and friends during your recovery cannot be underestimated. To insure you receive ample rest, we ask that you encourage visitors to respect visiting hours. Visiting hours are posted throughout the hospital. These hours are subject to change and may vary by unit, so check with your nurse for the current visiting hours of your unit, or call our Information Desk at 610-378-2166.  Visitors under 12 years of age will be evaluated on an individual basis by the unit supervisor to determine whether the visitation is appropriate.  For your children's safety, do not leave children unattended in the lobby or in any area of the medical center.

• All inpatient units of the Medical Center have specific visiting hours established to meet the needs for family contact, privacy and rest periods, all of which contribute to patient well-being.
• Visitors are asked to please use the main lobby entrance to the hospital.
• In order to accommodate special individual circumstances, exceptions can be made to the routine visiting policy.
• When deemed appropriate, permission may be granted to family members or significant others by the Registered Nurse, Clinical Manager or Administrative Supervisor.
• Security must be notified of all special permissions granted to a family member or significant other.
• During the hours between 8:00PM and 8:00AM, all visitors at the main campus must obtain a visitor's pass from the Security desk, located at the Emergency Department entrance.
• After 6:00PM, all visitors to the Downtown Reading Campus must go to the Security Booth, located at the Reed Street entrance. They will then be directed to the appropriate unit.

Visitation Hours

• Critical Care Unit: Mon-Sun 9-10AM, 12 Noon-1PM, 5-6PM
• Pediatrics Unit: Mon-Sun 8AM-8PM
• Family Birth Center: Mon-Sun 10AM-10PM (Immediate Family), Mon-Sun 12 Noon-1PM, 7-8PM (General Visitors)
• Progressive Care Unit (2 North): Mon-Sun 11AM-1PM, 4-8PM
• Medical-Surgical (1 North/1 South): Mon-Sun 10AM-8PM
