Family Practice Internship Family Practice Policy Manual

The first year in your FP Internship will give you knowledge and skills base to build your professional career on. You will be spending most of the year in the hospital setting. Our new hospital (link to new hospital site here) will have the latest state of the art equipment available to support your endeavor. Your rotation on the FP rotating service will familiarize you with the most common diseases, their diagnoses and work-ups.

The follow-up visits with your patients in our Family Practice will teach you long term disease management and progression. Dr. Batluck and the rest of our faculty work side by side with you to ensure your comfort and a good learning experience. The pediatric service will familiarize you with all pediatric age groups from newborn to adolescent. You will also acquire certificates in neonatal and pediatric emergency care.

The outpatient clinic will familiarize you with how and outpatient clinic works, its challenges and also the pleasures of having your own continuity of patients to make a difference in their health. Throughout the year you will have didactic conferences, workshops and support to increase your knowledge base. We offer all of our 1st year residents support groups and in addition everyone will have their own advisor with an open-door policy. Our Family Practice internship and residency is very supportive of their members trying to function as our extended family system.
