About The Wound Center

Penn State Health St. Joseph’s Wound Center has been providing the most effective treatment of care to patients with hard to heal wounds for over 20 years. Our highly-trained and experienced clinical staff offer the optimum level of care and are dedicated to bringing about the complete and rapid healing of wounds.

The Wound Center provides highly specialized and individualized care plans to meet the needs of each patient’s specific wounds. We work with patients to identify underlying disease or causes of wounds and develop strategies to prevent recurrence. We communicate and coordinate care with your primary care physician and any necessary consulting physicians.

The concept behind The Wound Center is simple – bring about complete healing. Do it with a blend of technology, expert professional care and a generous portion of human touch.

After all, most of our patients have suffered long enough. They need medical attention and they also need encouragement. They need to know that we will work with them to find a plan of treatment and therapy that works. Treatment that gives real hope for the future.

We specialize in the treatment of complicated, chronic wounds that have not healed with standard care.

The Wound Care Team

The Wound Center provides a comprehensive multi-disciplinary approach to wound care. The multi-disciplinary approach involves board-certified vascular surgeons, general surgeons, plastic surgeons, and podiatric surgeons. All our physicians have specialized training in advanced wound care and work very closely with the team in providing state-of-the-art wound care for our patients who suffer from chronic or severe wounds. The physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, nurses, and other allied health professionals are all expertly trained and certified as wound care specialists.
