Dr. Brian Shannon joins sports medicine program and orthopedics team at Penn State Health St. Joseph
Dr. Brian Shannon, a fellowship trained and board-certified orthopedic surgeon, has joined the sports medicine program and Department of Orthopedics at Penn State Health St. Joseph.
Shannon received his MD at Vanderbilt University Medical School. He completed his residency in surgery at the University of Wisconsin, and a fellowship in orthopedics sports medicine at the Southern California Center for Sports Medicine. Shannon also completed a Bachelor’s degree at Notre Dame University.
Shannon joins Penn State Health from Colorado Plains Medical Center, where he was an orthopedic surgeon.
Shannon is board certified in general orthopedics. He specializes in surgical and non-surgical care for a wide range of injuries to bones, joints, muscles and other soft tissues. His research is focused on sports medicine and orthopedics.
Shannon is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.
Shannon will be seeing patients at St. Joseph’s Bern Township campus at 2494 Bernville Road, Reading, Pa. Appointments with Dr. Shannon can be made by calling 610-378-2996.
