Speech Therapy at Medical Office Building

Speech-Language Pathologists provide life-changing treatment, support and care people who have trouble speaking, listening, reading, writing, thinking, and swallowing.

Communication and swallowing problems in adults can be caused by stroke, head injury, diseases like Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, multiple sclerosis, and ALS, breathing problems, head and neck cancer, vocal abuse, and severe or long-term illness.

LSVT LOUD® is an effective speech treatment for individuals with Parkinson disease and other neurological conditions. LSVT LOUD improves vocal loudness by stimulating the muscles of the voice box (larynx) and speech mechanism through a systematic hierarchy of exercises. The LSVT treatment improves respiratory, laryngeal and articulatory function to maximize speech intelligibility.

VitalStim Therapy is designed to help swallowing through the use of Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation. Electrical stimulation is used to aid muscle strengthening to rehabilitate the swallow. The sensory stimulation that is provided also helps muscle recruitment and swallowing function. VitalStim® Therapy is a safe and effective treatment for patients suffering with difficulty swallowing or dysphagia. VitalStim® therapy is designed to be used at the same time as traditional swallowing therapy. A therapist will apply VitalStim® while simultaneously working with the patient on swallowing exercises.
